MEET OUR TECHNICIAN

Doug Geiman

A native of south Louisiana, Doug Geiman (Guy-Man) joined the Atlanta, Georgia music scene in 2018. After graduating in 2010 with a BA in Bass Trombone Performance and completing a three year apprenticeship under Brian Falcon, Doug acquired a degree from Redwing in Musical Instrument Repair and worked an additional eight years on the bench at Zeagler’s Music in Baton Rouge, Louisiana until they closed their doors.

Now, with over a decade of experience, Doug is well versed in handling the smallest issue with a student horn to the most challenging restoration of a professional one.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

“I have had two bass clarinets serviced by Doug—a Bakun Alpha and a Royal Global Max. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. From start to finish, the experience was excellent. He took the time to evaluate the instruments thoroughly, and completed the work with exceptional craftsmanship. The difference in playability is night and day—both instruments now respond smoothly, with improved tone and playability. It’s evident that Doug is highly skilled and passionate about his work. His attention to detail and dedication to quality is exceptional. I highly recommend Doug. I will definitely be returning for future maintenance and repairs.”

– Jamie C., clarinetist

“I just went in to get a felt replaced on my Mark VI tenor. Doug spent an hour on my horn and did so much more. It plays like a dream now. I didn’t know what I was missing!”

– Beth B., saxophonist

“Doug took in my ancient TR181 bass trombone after an oopsie and did a fantastic job with it at a fair price. The slide has never been so smooth and the valves have never been so firm and silent. I’m really impressed with his work, and that he was able to get it done very quickly. It feels like a new instrument. I highly recommend him.”

– Brendon G., trombonist

“Doug’s repad and setup of my original 87k Mark VI alto was every bit as exceptional, if not better, than the greats…who have been working on my horns since I was at Berklee in the late 90s. This includes Emilio Lyons, Paul Maslin, Jack Finucane, Kim Bock, [and] Bill Singer. Doug can absolutely be mentioned in the same breath as these other fine and notable artisans.”

– John Spelic, saxophonist

“Doug was so helpful and very knowledgeable discussing the problem with [my son’s] instrument. He fixed the clarinet and polished the keys like new with a fast turn around during the holidays! Thank you Doug!!”

– Melanie C., band parent

“Had an amazing experience with Doug. Very honest and up front. I drove all the way from Griffin and I definitely will be coming back. Thank you Doug for being an outstanding guy!!!!”

– Zyad L.

“Doug was gracious enough to give [my son’s saxophone] a quick evaluation on the spot. Although he was extremely busy, he told me he could fix it that same day. True to his word it was restored by end of day. Appreciate him going above and beyond!!”

– Jamie L., band parent
